Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and DIN EN 14001

Not only are our processes certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001 - we also provide a corresponding quality guarantee to the end-users of our products: the entire product range of the Lauffenmühle GmbH & Co KG is certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. This includes both the entire range of yarns and without exception all items we offer within our thirteen product lines for corporate and protective wear, hygiene, health & care and for uniform fabrics.

Certification according to bluesign® standard

In October 2008, Lauffenmühle has also been awarded certification according to bluesign® standard. Bluesign screens the sustainability of the entire production chain up to the final product.
Environmental policy & Environmental regulations
By the environmental policy, we set us an ecopolitical framework which is binding for all decisions at both company locations. All activities, products and services are constantly checked for their direct environmental impacts; in doing so, both local and global environmental aspects are taken into account.
Already certified for the first time according to the environmental management system DIN EN ISO 14001 in 1998, we have clearly defined our environmental directives and make our decisions based on them:
- Environmental protection, occupational safety, product quality and consumer protection are in the area of responsibility of the business management. This awareness is firmly anchored in the minds of all employees; staff ideas are integrated and we do our utmost to improve our employees' environmental awareness and corresponding know-how by regularly providing information and trainings.
- We promote the development of environmentally and raw material friendly products and procedures. Before introducing new procedures and manufacturing new products, the environmental impacts are thoroughly examined and assessed. We commit ourselves to achieve these on both a national and an international scale.
- We select the auxiliary and raw materials required for the production in extensive compliance with the criteria of environmental protection. For this purpose, the purchasing department selects suppliers and products which equally take the ecological aspects besides the economical and quality criteria into account.
- We are engaged in the constant improvement of our manufacturing technology to avoid raw material waste, in minimising the amount of wastewater during the production process and subsequently utilising it for other applications, e.g. in cooling systems.
- Compliance with environmental law and regulations is a matter of course for us. In addition to this, we constantly make efforts to minimise and, if possible, completely avoid emissions harmful to the environment.
- In order to minimise accidental emissions, emergency and risk plans have been drawn up and submitted to the corresponding authorities. These plans are checked and updated on a regular basis.
- Raising the environmental awareness of our staff is achieved by in-house communication and trainings. Via an in-house suggestion scheme, our employees have the opportunity to actively contribute to the quality of the in-house environmental protection and operational safety.
